News, media, and even blogs often get a bad rap for clickbait articles and stories of “doom and gloom,” but here’s a happy story for your day…
About four weeks ago, a man by the name of Ruben Rodriguez attended the Back the Blue Fundraiser hosted by CrashedToys Dallas. During the live online auction that day, he placed the winning bid on a motorcycle.
Ruben didn’t win the motorcycle for himself.
No, he won it for his brother, Euless Police Department Officer Steve Rodriguez, who had lost a good friend and fellow police officer earlier this year.
Ruben planned to fix up the bike and surprise his brother with it at a special “Bike Hand Off” presentation. And that’s exactly what he did. The Rodriguez family and friends worked together to quickly spread the word about this heartfelt and meaningful occasion, which took place at CrashedToys Dallas last Saturday, August 20th.
Here are a few photos from the event:
In addition to the Bike Hand Off last Saturday, CrashedToys presented the money, donated by the community at the recent Back the Blue Fundraiser, to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation. Along with the financial donation, 4,000 memorial t-shirts were given to Dallas-area police officers as an expression of gratitude for their service, as well as a way to honor the ones who lost their lives in this summer’s tragedy in Dallas.
CrashedToys is proud to be part of this wonderful Rodriguez family memory and to support local law enforcement at large.
Then, starting at 10 p.m., DJ Sober will be in the house for the Xtreme Knockout Afterparty, hosted at CrashedToys Dallas! Bring your friends and family, and come out for food trucks, live music, cold drinks and hundreds of awesome motorcycles! RSVP here.
Loved being a part of this memorable and fun day! Honoring those who protect and serve was such a blessing and I am thankful for all who came out to join in support.
