Originally named the “Gay Jane” after original owner L.R. Wasey’s children, Jane and Gager, the 1930 Le Bon Temps Roule is an 86 foot beauty with a rich history. This river yacht was launched in Daytona Beach on the Fourth of July in 1930 and was first used a commuter between Miami and Mr. Wasey’s new development, Cat Cay, Bahamas.

Prior to World War II, the vessel was sold to the United States Corps of Engineers, Wilmington, North Carolina Division and renamed “Kitty Hawk” where it was used as a survey and inspection boat along the 3,375 mile coastline. It wasn’t until 1967 when the name “Le Bon Temps Roule” was given by William Monteleone, owner of Monteleone Hotel in New Orleans. Mr. Monteleone was an avid fisherman and loved entertaining people in the Louisiana delta. If you would like to learn more about this vessel’s history, check out its website.

Le Bon Temps Roule currently resides in Madisonville, Louisiana and spends most of her time on the Tchefuncte River. The most recent owners primarily used the river yacht to host events to raise money for national and local charities and organizations. They were able to raise over $750,000 by cruising the Tchefuncte River.CarsForKids

Proceeds from the sale will benefit Cars for Kids, an organization that raises money for high school students to provide them with better education to set them up for successful futures. Much of Le Bon Temps Roule remains original, so be a part of history with this timeless river yacht!
